Training
Training
is important to us at Mace. We firmly believe our staff
should have the opportunity to improve their qualifications
and knowledge whilst employed.
Mace offers a variety of training courses to suit everyone's
individual needs, taking in to account previous knowledge
and experience.
Mace has a qualified and dedicated Training Team, who
will arrange training sessions to either take place in the
Nursery or at Central Office. Open Learning material and
resources are available and will be provided by the Training
Team.
We offer the widest range of training courses available within
the childcare industry, which includes NVQ's and Modern Apprenticeship
Schemes.
Modern Apprenticeships (MA's) are high quality training and
development schemes. MA's are offered to all Mace employees
aged 17 – 24.
MA's are an ideal start for anyone who wishes to pursue a
career childcare. They offer employment and a salary combined
with the opportunity to gain the qualifications and skills
that are needed to work within the childcare sector.
MA's are a recognised qualification to all employers throughout
the UK .
By completing a MA, you will work towards NVQ Level III in
Early Years Care and Education, as well as completing Key
Skills in Communication and Application of Numbers and TEC
Certificate.
The Advantaged level should take about 2 years to complete,
depending on your individual pace of work and learning.
What are Key Skills?
Key Skills are what we all use on a day-to-day basis, no
matter what industry we work in. They represent the ability
to manipulate language, words and numbers and to work constructively
with other people.
All staff will be offered the chance to complete an NVQ Programme
whilst working for Mace. This will not only improve your
skills, knowledge and qualifications but will give you the
opportunity to gain promotion and development.
National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ's)
The NVQ in Early Years is offered to all staff.
The NVQ scheme allows you to achieve a qualification whilst
working and gaining valuable experience. To gain an NVQ you
need to be able to prove your competence whilst caring for
children in our Nurseries. You will be assessed on your practical
skills as well as your knowledge and understanding of the
tasks being carried out.
Experienced members of staff, who have gained or are working
towards their Assessors Awards, can assess NVQ's in Nursery.
